Thursday.
Great cool weather minus the occassional headwind. I met Chris at the gym. He just returned from running the Boston Marathon and he gave me a nice shirt & poster. While he was there he picked up new earbuds and a Garmin 405. Nice watch but he didn't have it properly setup so we tracked the pace with the old 201 he gifted me over a year ago.
Slow start as we waited for our satellite links. Once we got going we noticed another runner heading under the BART station. We caught him and chatted. His name was Mark and he was out for his 2nd run of the day. We compared routes and he decided to join us for 7 miles up Dougherty to Old Ranch. Interesting conversation ranging from the Advanced Marathon book to The Relay, made for easy miles. He's run ALOT of marathons with some incredible finish times. He ran very consistent 8min/mile splits. Hopefully we'll catch him on the trail again.
